Trans Woman Beats Subway Rider for Calling Her a Man

fuck yeah.

but see, violence isn’t acceptable on either end.
it’s wonderful that she’s not afraid to stand up for herself, but physical violence is not necessary.

this isn’t good.
it’s not.

I don’t like violence, either.

being present for something like this would send me into a hell of a panic attack.

but i think it’s awesome that she fought back when someone fucked with her and completely disrespected her,

and the person who called her a man deserved it.

I like violence and I love this video. This woman is a fucking hero.

People who condemn what she did as an “act of violence” don’t see the violence perpetrated by white people, by cis people, by men… This guy saying that one disrespectful thing to her was the act of taking all that very real systemic violence and rubbing her face in it.

Tell the homeless trans women about why violence is bad, tell the trans women who get beat after men misgender them why violence is bad, tell the murdered trans women why violence is bad, tell them to look violence in the face with a compassionate smile. They’ll be justified in laughing at you for suggesting such a thing.

Nonviolence is always a matter of strategy, not of obligation.

Exactly. Non-violence placates, panders to, and protects oppressors. This woman is defending and protecting herself and other women, queer folks, and trans* folks. She is badass.
